How QR ordering works
QR ordering lets guests browse your menu and place orders directly from their phone, without downloading an app. Each QR code is linked to a location such as a table, room, or zone.
When a guest scans the code, they see your Belanzy menu, choose items, and submit their order. The order instantly appears in your service or kitchen view.
Locations & tables
Locations represent where the guest is sitting or ordering from. This can be tables, rooms, areas (like “Terrace”), or even takeaway.
- Go to Locations in the sidebar.
- Click Add location.
- Give it a clear name like “Table 7” or “Room 301”.
- Save the location.
Each location will have its own QR code so you always know where the order came from.
Generating QR codes
Once a location exists, you can generate a QR code for it with one click.
- Open a location from the Locations list.
- Click Generate QR or similar.
- Download the image as PNG, SVG, or PDF (depending on your setup).
- Print and place it where guests can scan it easily.
Use high-contrast prints and avoid placing QR codes where they can be easily damaged or blocked.
Customer ordering flow
The guest experience is intentionally simple and intuitive:
- Scan QR code with the phone camera.
- Browse the menu and add items to the cart.
- Review the order and confirm.
- Optionally pay online (if online payments are enabled).
Staff see the incoming order with the correct location and can start preparing it immediately.
Testing your QR setup
Always test before going live with real guests. This helps you catch missing items, wrong prices, or confusing descriptions.
- Scan several QR codes yourself and place test orders.
- Check how the order appears in the Service or Kitchen view.
- Ask your staff to test from both guest and staff perspective.
Once everything looks good, you’re ready to use Belanzy QR ordering in daily service.
